About Us

Meredith K. (Nelson) Jackson 281-384-5219

Meredith Kathryn (Nelson) Jackson is a native Texan and has been a resident of Montgomery County nearly her whole life.  She grew up in The Woodlands and was a member of the last graduating class of McCullough High School.  Ms. Jackson attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas and then to Baylor University to attend the Hankamer School of Business.  She graduated from Baylor in 1999 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems with a focus on Accounting.  She then attended South Texas College of Law, where she pursued and focused on family law and graduated in 2004.

Ms. Jackson is an attorney, but is also a mother and a wife, and has been through a divorce. A strong background in real estate, business and accounting provides her with the tools to handle the complex property issues that often arise in complex divorce litigation.  She further understands the impact divorce and custody battles have on your life, and is committed to making that transition as easy as possible for her clients. With that understanding comes her commitment to her clients, no matter what hour of the day, 7 days a week.  She believes and understands that family law cases involve the things most valuable to you and she is there to help and guide you through the process.

Ms. Jackson deals with family law issues including real estate probate, custody and property on a daily basis. She is a trained litigator but views it as a last resort, as she wants to help families do what is best for families.

… BUT if you want an aggressive litigator, she is a numbers lover and is concerned about protecting your assets and ensuring your financial stability going forward. If you want real … she is that.

Ms. Jackson, along with a highly experienced paralegal, handles the day-to-day operations of family law plus the litigation aspect of each case.  She has a network of trusted and valued resources including forensic accountants, business valuation experts, appraisers, child psychologists, drug and alcohol specialists and many other valued and respected experts.  Ms. Jackson has a reputation that precedes her in the courtroom and is defined by her commitment to preparation and litigation experience.

Family Law and More

Coming from a family with strong and extensive ties to real estate, Ms. Jackson obtained her real estate license in 1997 and worked full-time in different aspects of the real estate industry throughout her undergraduate and graduate school programs.  Ms. Jackson worked with a top real estate agent in Waco, Texas and then with the executive management team at Stewart Title.  She travelled throughout the United States working with lawyers, realtors, and title professionals for Stewart Title.  Combining her experience in law school, degree in technology and business background she then transitioned her career into the legal field in 2002 and travelled internationally working with Vinson & Elkins.

Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Jackson used her legal and real estate background in combination and worked in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum landman doing land work throughout the state of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.  In 2014, Ms. Jackson returned to her true passion of family law and has been working with Stephen D. Jackson and Associates since May 2015.
